Banton Afoyo Silingi

Conservation Assistant

My name is Banton Afoyo Silingi. I did my primary and Secondary education in Vihiga County, I later joined ARK and did a short course on tree nursery management at Kenya Forest in Lenana, Nairobi Kenya.I joined ARK on the 1st June 2014. I got to know ARK through my brother who worked in Karen near ARK compound.

I  joined ARK as an assistant conservationist at Karara. These includes tree nursery, environmental education and farming God’s Way among other things. I have learnt a lot concerning farming God’s Way,  conserving tree nursery and the different variety of trees  which includes medicinal trees and other species of trees. What I appreciate  the most in  A Rocha is how people interact with one another especially in matters spiritual growth . We fellowship together at the beginning of every week before we start our activities.

I really enjoy interacting with young people as I get to educate them on things to do with trees and matters environment. My joy is when young people get to know how important it is to conserve and protect our environment.

I appreciate A Rocha for their good work they are doing in matters to do with environment and tree conservation. I am also proud to be part of the  team  and i will do my best to help the organization achieve it’s goals as we get to learn more and more about our environment.
