Communications Officer

My name is Alex,the Comms Officer for A Rocha Kenya. I first joined A Rocha Kenya as an intern in the communications department in 2021.

Although I was a Chemist by profession, I was always fascinated by the art of story-telling and writing. I had basic skills in communication which just about enabled me to get the internship position. When I was starting out, I didn’t see A Rocha Kenya anything more than a brief stop on my journey of pursuing science as a profession.

However, after being exposed to the wonderful work of A Rocha and the wonders and power of effective communication, I had a change of heart which later resulted in a change of career. I took over as the Communications lead towards the end of 2022 and that is where I have been serving ever since.

I never realized just how much difference I could make as a communications person, in a conservation organization nevertheless. Every bit of creation is a gift we have been given by God. HE has entrusted this amazing world in our care. If sharing the amazing work that A Rocha Kenya is doing with the rest of the world can encourage even a single person to care for the environment, then there is no better place I could be.
